Globalization of India’s Foreign Policies

As the world leaders just accomplished the abortive Global Climate Summit at Copenhagen the discussion on the issue of India’s stand in the global arena is of utmost importance.

In today’s context when oil reserves are the deciding factors in shaping the foreign policies of most of the countries, India is still running from pole to post to grapple its share of pie. The relationship of India with Middle East and other OPEAC countries is a vital cause of concern for the government.

Right from the Nehurian era Indian foreign policy is on its back foot, the way successive governments of India dealt with the strain Sino- India relation is a case study for all of us.

It’s being 62 years of India’s independence, and we are still finding new equations to deal with the robustly changing algebra in the global arena. In the middle of this Indo-Pak relations stole the charm of the show. Be it the case of attacks on people of Indian origin in Australia, or the case of cross voting against the Iran in IAEA, Indian leaders always found them under the influence of foreign pressure
